Letting go: A Sacred Surrender

Letting Go: A Sacred Surrender

We often cling to our ideas, thoughts, perceptions, experiences, relationships, and opportunities—long after their time has passed. Even when we know, deep within, that they no longer serve us.

Serve—not in the sense of feeding the ego or fulfilling a selfish desire—but as in mutual benefit, divine alignment, and sacred purpose. Service, in the spiritual sense, is harmony between the soul, the ruh and what surrounds it. It is not about bending the world to orbit around our wants, but about recognizing what brings meaning, balance, and growth.

Allah, Most Merciful, reminds us: “We do not burden a soul beyond what it can bear.” And when something is taken from us, it is often to make space for something far better. These are not mere words of comfort—they are deep rivers of wisdom flowing through our faith or iman.

But in the thick of pain—when we are stung by betrayal, drowning in loss, or paralyzed by fear or anxiety—we forget. We forget the vastness of Allah's mercy. We become trapped in the step before us, unable to see the horizon that awaits.

Yet, we are a people of vision. Of hope. Of trust in the unseen.

Letting go means letting Allah.
Letting go of the illusion of control.
Because what can we truly control? Only a little—and even that is a mercy. Subhan Allah.

We cannot see the hidden wisdom in every hardship, nor the blessings veiled within every trial. What appears as loss may be protection from Allah. What feels like an ending may be the whisper of a new beginning.

To let go is not to be passive. It is to surrender with action. To tie your camel, and then release the outcome to the One who holds the cosmos in balance. SWT.

When we surrender, we don’t stop striving—we stop clinging and we are free.
